Dear Delegate,

The Twelfth International Ferroalloys Congress, Infacon XII ended over a week ago and it´s time to make a short review about the congress.

First of all, on behalf of the Infacon XII Organising Committee, I would like to thank all of you attending the congress and making it a great success. Even though the financial market for ferroalloys is not the best possible, we were happy to receive a very good number of delegates coming to sunny Helsinki and Marina Congress Center. There were almost 400 delegates representing 120 organisations from more than 35 countries. The Infacon atmosphere was great and we all had a chance to meet old friends and to be acquainted with new ones during technical sessions and social program. Also many of the delegates took part into several post-congress technical tours.

Thanks to the good quality of refereed papers we were able to have 78 oral presentations and 19 posters in the program. The proceedings included all these 97 papers in two volumes with 955 pages, and it will be on public sale in December 2010.

The next Infacon XIII will be arranged in Almaty, Kazakhstan in 2013, and I´m sure there will be a great congress with high level presentations.
