Congress Venue

The 19th Helsinki Drug Research 2008 will take place in Helsinki - the capital and the largest city of Finland. Helsinki is located in the southern part of Finland by the Baltic Sea. The population of the city of Helsinki is about 570 000 inhabitants.

Biomedicum

The congress venue is Biomedicum which is an initiate of the University of Helsinki and Helsinki University Central Hospital. Biomedicum offers modern surroundings for different occasions. There are several meeting-room facilities with modern techniques to choose from, such as lecture halls, meeting and seminar rooms. Atriums and catering are found in the same building.

Travel Connections

The Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is located 19 kilometers from the centre of Helsinki and can be reached by car in app. 30 minutes.

Public transport to the centre of Helsinki:

Taxi: Taxi ranks are located in front of both International and Domestic terminals and it takes about 30 minutes to the downtown of Helsinki. The yellow Airport Taxi Company offers shuttle service from and to the airport. More information at Airport Taxi.

Bus: No. 415, 451 and 615 are the public buses to Helsinki city center and depart from outside both terminals.The bus trip takes about 40 minutes and the tickets are sold in the bus. There is Finnair City Bus as well. More information at Finnair.

Car hire: There are several car hire desks located in the arrivals hall 2 of the International Terminal T2.

Public transport within Helsinki consists of bus, tram, metro, train and ferry.
